Buy Gift Cards from McKinley
McKinley families who purchase gift cards during the holiday season can purchase them through Great Lake Scrips so that the McKinley PTA can earn some extra money. (We usually average 7% earnings). Purchase them to give as gifts or puchase them to buy your gifts or everyday items! There are over one hundred merchants available -- Peet's, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Safeway, Macy's, AMC and Regent Movie Theatres, iTunes, ... and many more (full list here). To purchase gift cards before the holiday, please submit your order using the order form and a check payable to McKinley Elementary Education by either December 5th or December 15th. Paper copies of the order form and list of merchants are available in the office.

Donate Items to Community Thrift
The Community Thrift Store accepts donations in the name of an organization and when those items sell, the organization receives a portion of the proceeds. They're located at

Donations are accepted between 10:00am to 5:00pm in Sycamore Alley, which runs parallel to 17th Street, enter on Mission Street, and be sure to designate McKinley, #129, as the beneficiary.

EScrip

Get out your Safeway club card and go to eScrip and sign up: McKinley Elementary School is #6663335. In 2006, McKinley earned $1012.73 from eScrip, the majority from everyday shopping with registered Safeway cards.

Shopping: It's a Trip @ Serramonte Shopping Center
Bring receipts from any Serramonte Center store (including Target!) to the information booth in the middle of the mall and register them for McKinley Elementary. Anyone can register receipts for McKinley--relatives, friends, co-workers. This promotion will run through January 31, 2008.

Boxtops For Education

Save all your the BoxTops logos, and see if you can't get friends or family to save them, too. You can turn them at school--we collect all year round--in the bag posted outside Mr. Woo's classroom. And new members to the BoxTops Booster Club will earn 7 boxtops (70 cents) for McKinley. Sign-up at www.BoxTops4Education.com. Have your relatives, friends, co-workers sign up for McKinley, too.

Donors Choose

DonorsChoose is a simple way to provide students in need with resources that our public schools often lack. At this not-for-profit web site, teachers submit project proposals for materials or experiences their students need to learn and concerned individuals, choose projects to fund. Teachers from McKinley have submitted proposals in the past that have been funded, so check back to see if more have been submitted.

Corporate and Business Contributors

Spectrum Federal Credit Union

A strong community supporter of McKinley, Spectrum Federal Credit Union provides both monetary contributions and runs the Kirby Kangaroo Savings Club. Representatives from Spectrum make regular visits to McKinley classes during the year to collect deposits, open accounts, and answer questions. Membership applications are in the office, or call (800) 782-8782. For every new Kirby account opened at McKinley, Spectrum will donate $5 to the McKinley PTA.
