The PTA has monthly meetings where we gather to discuss how we can improve
our school and enrich the learning environment for our children. PTA meetings are typically the second Thursday of the month in the McKinley Cafegymitorium. The next meetings are - August 26,
- September 16, and
- October 14.
We begin with a pot-luck dinner at 5:30pm, a half-hour before the meeting, which provides a comfortable atmosphere for parents, students, teachers and staff to socialize. Bring an appetizer, entree, or fruit to share, or come just for the meeting, which starts promptly at 6pm. Children are welcome--childcare will be provided by ASEP for those over two. We strive to keep the meetings short and on topic so we can go home by 7:30pm. The agenda is distributed in the Wednesday folder before the meetings and posted online here. Aaron Anderson, PTA President
In his second and final term as PTA President, Aaron is feeling blessed to be involved with the wonderful McKinley community. His kids are now in first and third grades. He works for San Francisco State University as the Director of the Executive MBA Program, and outside of work, he has been a avid trail runner since 1979, and a windsurfer since 1983.
Georgia McNamara, Vice President
Georgia is thrilled to have both children at McKinley this year--one in kindergarten and one in fifth grader. She served as PTA Secretary previously, and swears this is her last year on the PTA so someone else can have a chance. She works part-time downtown at a big bank in online services, which sounds more exciting than it is.
Jean Micheli, 2nd Vice-President
Jean is a first grade teacher at McKinley. She has been a teacher for 34 years, 14 at McKinley. She is the driving force behind the Marin Headlands field trips.
Patricia McFadden, Secretary
Patricia has a son in third grade and a son in first grade. She was born and raised in SF and is an Environmental Engineer and enjoys keeping up with the boys, sewing, and photography.
Denise Lawwill, Treasurer
Denise has a second grader at McKinley, and her second child will start in Kindergarten in 2012. Denise was Financial Secretary last year, and loves 80's music, photography, books and mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Aloisia Stevens, Financial Secretary
Aloisia has a son in first grade and this is her first elected PTA position. She's a clothing designer who’s turning wardrobe consultant. She likes to travel and practice yoga.
Annie Bauccio Moore, Legislative Rep
Annie has a daughter in fourth grade, a son in second, and looks forward to her third child beginning kindergarten in 2011. She is currently the PTA board member who won't go away, and is looking forward to her first year as Legislative Rep, merging her non-McK volunteerism as a founding member of Educate Our State with her McK volunteerism. Annie is an organizing professional and enjoys cooking, baking, and writing.
Robin Dutton-Cookston, Vice President of Development
Robin has a second grader at McKinley and a future McKinley-ite who will enroll in 2012. Robin likes to read, write, and run around the city with her family. She also has a "real" job as an editor at SFkids.org
